The program prepares students for careers in school or community health education. Health educators are professionals who use health promotion processes to encourage healthful behavior. they may be part of a team with other health professionals such as physicians, nurses, or dentists. They may focus on a specific area such as fitness, nutrition, or infectious diseases. Some health educators specialize in chronic diseases, substance abuse, mental health, stress management, or oral health. Community health educators might work in health departments, government agencies, private practice, health clubs, hospitals, or community health centers. The school health education option requires admission to the College of Education. It prepares students to become certified teachers at the middle or secondary level
