Aerospace Engineering, The University of Arizona

ABET accredited Aerospace engineers focus on the design, manufacture, and operation of flight vehicles. This includes military and civilian airplanes, missiles and rocket boosters, and spacecraft and surface rovers for planetary exploration. Courses include engineering science, math, information technology, and design. Students develop communication ability, teamwork skills, ethical standards and the ability to adapt to the rapidly changing aerospace profession.

High School Preparation:

Entrance Requirements
1/2 unit trigonometry required; one year physics, calculus, and chemistry recommended

Major Requirements:

major requires math beyond basic calculus

major requires upper-division lab sciences

Careers:

positions with companies specializing in aircraft or spacecraft design (graduates have been hired by Lockheed-Martin, JPL, TRW)
modern surface ships
air cushion vehicles and ground transportation
opportunities in communications, environmental protection, and health care
